The market, honestly

NVIDIA's own DGX Spark and DGX Station lines are explicitly marketed around bringing "sovereign AI to the desktop" — air-gapped, fully disconnected deployment as a stated design goal, not an edge case. Big integrators (Dell, Supermicro, HPE, Lenovo) compete on cooling density and managed-service polish, because the underlying silicon is the same NVIDIA stack for practically everyone.
Which is the point, really: hardware itself is commoditized. Nobody is differentiating on chips anymore. The differentiation has moved entirely to integration, compliance architecture, and who actually shows up when something needs to be updated or audited two years into a deployment.
